| DESPARATE LITTLE TOWN ALBUM REISSUE: POSTED 29TH APRIL 2011 Reissue of a fine lost album, a collaboration between Holly Golightly & Dan Melchior
that was originally released on Sympathy For The Record Industry Records from California, it’s been out of print for around eight years and so folk though it was about time that was put right.Recorded in London and Californian in 1999 with long time friend and Holly collaborator of some note Bruce Brand on percussion, the album features 10 tracks, some of which you’ll know if you’ve seen Holly play in the last decade like "Directly From My Heart" & "Further On Up The Road"; here they’re given some warm and friendly re-workings. Also out 9th May. Looks like it's time to quickly save up the old pocket money. Available as a CD, to dowload and yep, on vinyl. Released on Damaged Goods. |

SPRING 2011 US TOUR DATES: POSTED 9TH MARCH 2011 |
||||
NEW US LIVE DATES: POSTED 7TH MAY 2010: |
||||
NEW ALBUM OUT 29TH MARCH (UK/EU) & 30TH MARCH (US): ‘Medicine County’ was written and recorded on a farmhouse just outside Athens in Georgia and as Holly says it’s “peppier” than the last album, in fact there’s only one slow song on the whole album which is probably down to the fact that this time they had a lot longer to work on the songs and recording, their last album was recorded in the middle of a very long European tour over a week or two in Spain. So what does it sound like? Choc-full of ghostly blues, gut-bucket slide guitar, with a smattering of ol’ time country. This is just the disc for conjuring up the spirit of weird old America. Anyone with an interest or liking for the music of The Band, Son House, or Hank Williams, sung by Nancy and Lee, should certainly check it out! Holly’s mum painted the cover, which adds to the warm home-spun appeal. 12 brand new songs including a cover of Wreckless Eric’s ‘Murder In My Mind’ and a guest appearance by Tom Heinl on ‘Blood On The Saddle’ (Tom wrote Holly’s Christmas track ‘Christmas Tree On Fire’) Tracklisting: 1. Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs - Forget It |

HOLLY GOLIGHTY & THE BROKEOFFS - NEW SPLIT 7": POSTED 11TH JULY 2007
Here’s what Holly & Dave had to say about their recordings for this single “Holly says to an inebriated Lawyer Dave, "Right, we've got to record two songs for The Lawyer tried his best to develop the film in his mind with the contaminated "Alrighty then." saith Dave, "Let's git to it." After a brief reintroduction to the "Well then, that was an adventure." Holly and Dave said in unison. And then there The STRATFORD SPARROWS are from Portland, Oregon, started in June of 2006. The Rev. Joe alighted there from San Francisco. After making it though the many trials of life in the City of Roses, he began hearing the sounds of harmony vocals, clean Telecasters, and reverb. He obtained a recording He met the fair Miss Bryna in Japanese class and asked her to put her sweet voice to good use. She said yes and the hit making commenced. Taking inspiration from classic country music, the mighty Willamette River, and the 100 year old building that houses them, the Stratford Sparrows made music all summer long. Rev. Joe called on his friend Holly and a record was born. This is a very special release for all of us here at Damaged Goods and we hope you enjoy it as much as we are right now.
